FAQ

How many dogs are walked at any one time?

We are insured up to 6 dogs but we will walk a maximum of 4 at a time.

Do I need to be home when you collect or drop off my dog?

No. We will arrange with you how best to pick up and drop off your dog in advance and coordinate accordingly.

Are you insured?

Yes. Up to £10m.

How will I know how my dog is doing on their walks?

We will send you regular updates about your dog's walks.

Do you do out of hours walking like on weekends or bank holidays?

Yes but there is a £5 surcharge and it is subject to availability.


What do you do if my dog has an accident in the house?

We will clean up provided that you have shown us where the cleaning material is located. Accidents happen especially during puppyhood.

In the case of rain, do you dry my dog after the walk?

Yes, as long as you have provided a towel. We try our best to make sure you dog is comfortable and as clean as possible.

Where do you walk?

Local parks and street walking.

My dog has not been spayed or neutered, can he/she still be walked?

Yes but please advise us if your bitch is in season so we can offer solo walks to keep her safe and away from other dogs.
 

What happens if my dog doesn’t get on with another dog?

We are experienced to handle difficult situtations and we try our best to avoid any conflicts. Our aim is to have safe and happy walks for all. We have procedures in place to deal with these types of situations and you will be notified so we can all ensure the safety of the dogs.

How do you transport the dogs to the walk location?
On foot or a short car ride.

I only require occasional walks for my dog, not every week or every day, can you help?

Yes. We do offer flexibility in our scheduling.
 

My dog can be aggressive with other dogs or people and he has to wear a muzzle, can you still walk him?

Yes, we are happy to walk dogs with muzzles. We are advocates of muzzle training as they are great tools to keep everyone safe for a multitude of reasons. We also offer solo walks for the dogs who are less sociable with dogs but love human company.
 

Would you stay overnight at a customer's home to care for dogs?

We do offer house sitting services but this is limited to WalkWagPlay Ltd customers only and subject to availability.

Can dogs stay with you?

No. We do not offer boarding or daycare services.
 

We just got a puppy and we both work, what services do you provide for a puppy?
We offer puppy visits for puppies up to 5 months. Our puppies visits are 30 minutes each and include a bathroom break, playing, training and socialisation and once the puppy is fully vaccinated, we can also provide short walks and begin the socialisation process by introducing them to other dogs.

What happens in bad weather?

We walk in all weather however, we do reserve the right to cancel, cut short or reschedule services in servere weather conditions or any situation we deem dangerous for our team members or the dogs. You will be notified as soon as possible if this occurs.
 

Do you walk dogs off the lead?
Yes but only with written consent and in appropriate conditions.

What kind of payments do you accept?
BACS and cash.

Are you certified in Dog First Aid?
Yes. We provide Dog First Aid certification to all our team members. 

Does my dog need to be microchipped?
Yes as per current legislation.

Can you administer my pet’s medication?

Yes but only if you have provided us with written instructions.
 

Do your services cater for all dog breeds?

Yes. Apart from dogs on the banned breed list due to insurance cover.
 

When are you available to walk my dog?
Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm.

 

What areas in Cardiff do you cover?

We are based in Pontcanna and Canton.
